Colin Evans (born 1964) is a trade diplomat. ==Early life== Born in 1964 into a working-class family. He grew up in Birkenhead and swam and played rugby for his high school. He completed GCE Advanced Level education and a Gold Pass in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. Until 2001, the Gold Awards were presented to winners by the Duke of Edinburgh in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.() Evans went on to represent Merseyside, Cheshire and his R.M.R. Unit at National Judo competitions. He joined the Royal Marines Reserve in Merseyside a year after leaving school and was sent for Officer Cadet training at the University of Liverpool Officers Training Corps UOTC, where he attended the 'North West Reserve Officers Training Programme' in Preston, passing in top place.()
